The main purpose of this blog - exposing online chess cheaters

Chess is a beatiful game, unfortunately things went wrong in the last 15 - 20 years. Computers have had great impact on chess in many ways, it can be discussed later. I have decided to expose the worst one: Cheating with move generating software (engines) and cheaters, the little unimportant assholes with their real names, photos, e-mails, adresses, jobs and each and every additional information I can get together.

Cheating with engines in online chess can be compared to - and should be punished the same way as - drug abuse in physical sports: long time ban and lifetime dishonour. So let googlebot find it and let cheaters be forever marked with their stigma.

OK, why haven't I created my blog on Chess.com as member there? The answer is simple: It is not allowed to name and shame cheaters there.

  1. The only problem is that with your crude methodology you will (perhaps inadvertently out of ignorance, perhaps you don't care) also expose completely honest chess players as cheaters. In so doing, you will cause more harm than good to the beautiful game, and to many people devoted to it.

  2. Can you provide an example of a supposedly honest chess player who's ever been wrongfully accused of being a cheater?

  3. That question brings out the problem exactly. There is no way to know or prove honest play. This is why public accusers of cheating have a considerable responsibility in ensuring that they do not make mistakes.

  4. Well, it seems that these accusers take this responsibility very seriously. What's interesting is that most players who are banned from chess.com don't even make any denial. I think this speaks volumes of the investigators accuracy in this matter.

  5. I don't think that this correlation is a very good one. Please, remember that the wrongly accused has no way to prove honest play! Vocal denial is likely to result only in an avalanche of ridicule and libel, and therefore only has negative effects. This is one reason why "the record" probably does not show a single case of a wrongly banned player. Don't get me wrong, I think it is very likely that the large majority of players accused of cheating on this site are/were cheaters. I share your impression that Polar_Bear takes the responsibility quite seriously. Unfortunately, that does not preclude mistakes at the level he has set the sieve, even though they may be rare.
